It's almost here

So news has come out about the Forza 3 Demo, been waiting a long time for this, never really found a racer I liked since 2, with GRID coming closest. Estatic that the Evo 10 has made its way not only in to the game, but will be usable on the demo to!!! Roll on the 27th :D

Wow been a while since I've been in here  First review for 6 months is up, fifa Ultimate Team was my task this time, and boy was it tasking...

The coding was shocking from such an established company as EA Sports... I guess they let this one slip through the net, credit to them though for getting a patch out so quickly, although there shouldn't have been any need for one in the first place. The damage was done though, people wern't going to play a game that wouldn't award them something which they have earnt fairly will they?

Not only this but my Xbox hasn't got a look in for the past 6 months, I guess a woman does that, they can moan but an xbox can't, so I chose to leave the xbox alone for a quiet life  However she has gone away for a while leaving me about 5-6 months to catch up on some long needed gaming :D and oh boy do I have a list already xD

Got Viva Pinata: TIP, Infinate Undiscovery and NFS: Undercover sat on the shelf untouched, although NFS has started to get some action, then there is a list of like 10-15 games that I want in the shops, ranging from Fallout 3 to Last Remenant, Race Pro (again) and Snooker which I have bought, along with these I wanna get Gears 2, Lost odyssey and Fifa more completed....

Looks like my Xbox is in for a lot of lovin'

What a load of.....

Well I just finished reviewing BTL2 and I have to say what a load of crap..... its glorified violence with American football stuck on the side... terrible.

If it made me wretch then hell that says something... i've normally an iron stomach when it comes to those things...

It makes me wonder, how on earth do games like this get through censorship but the others like Resident Evil 2, Silent Hill and Manhunt 2 all get regected or just 'scrape it' - I mean c'mon this game promotes sex, violence and drugs!!! I'd pick mindless zombie killing anyday!!

Strange....

Oh and for those who actually care about it I passed my test :D roll on the extra money.

Time For a Break

Well Bionic Commando will be my last review for a couple of weeks, got a test for work coming up so need to get my head down for that, not only that but i've been hit with the bug where you just sit and stare at your Dash for ages, so giving it all a break.

While i'm here.. Too Human was  I really didn't enjoy it and never got on with it, so traded it in and got Merc's 2 instead... now thats my kinda game :D Viva pinata hasn't got a look in since i got it

Be safe

Time is priceless

Ohh a whole month since I touched this :hehe: stupid work always keeping me busy these days.

So just an update in the life of Nbkrooney, got myself a new job as an assistant manager which is keeping me plenty busy, especially considering i'm only a trainee and I seem to know a shed load more than most of the people who aren't :glare:

Gaming wise my second Xbox has hit the bucket, so the spare is out again, this time for the long haul as mines off to germany to be fixed  So god knows when that'll be back. Games you can find me on lately has been Grid and MotoGP, soon to be Too Human and the new Viva Pinata game xD

Errr other than that i'm just really missing someone atm but you dont really care about that

So eh, thats basically all thats been happening to me lately - hence the quietness of the blog.

will prolly liven up once I get too human, will post up my thoughts as im not the designated reviewer for this, Viva pinata will be my next retail game review.

So till then, stay cushty

Well E308 is more or less finished, we've had some thrills, spills and some ok moments, as its seems the norm among those who dealt you the E3 goodness, here is my picks of the day:

Gears of War 2, although it already had been sold to me, has been re-sold again to me by what cliff has been showing off this week, certainly looks improved and sounds it, but the proof is in the pudding, lets see online - does the gnasher still rules supreme? Does host still get an advantage regardless of the tweaks made by them? We shall see

Now I'm a 360 owner as most of you know but if there was ever a game I would buy a PS3 for it would have to be LittleBigPlanet, it looks interesting, new, fresh - the gameplay style where you actually create your OWN levels to play is ingenious! Certainly could see myself playing that :)

Fallout 3 was just a name to me till E3, now i've seen the screens and vids, I have to say that this is one promising game for me, will have to keep my eye on it....

Viva Pinata... well what can I say, my comerade in arms - Mr SafeGrey fox2, will join me in saying can't absolutely wait for this, already on pre-order :D Sad, pathetic or just down right wierd you may say, but I do like a game just to kick back to why having a challenge, and this does it!

One other thing I will have to get my hands on before I pass judgement, the new dashboard and the party chat, looks ok but personal experiments are needed.

I am dissapointed though, in all the flurry of RPG's coming out, still the biggest contender to Oblivion has been the graphically rubbish Two Worlds, both over a year old! Think its time for a new one!

Well thats my take on E3, please join me in thanking those 4 who worked hard to bring you all this news: Mush xx, Mechanical R, xx R4GT4G xx and lastly myself - its been fun even with my handbag fight with Mech on day 1 :hehe:

Right time to give my fingers a rest, time to make my Xbox feel more wanted as it hasn't been touched in 4 days :o

Laters all!

Day 1

Well today was the first day of the E3 Business and media conference, and boy did it start with a bang, plenty of surprise announcements and screens & videos, enough to keep you reading till day 2 starts

Couple of bits the peaked my ears, the new Viva Pinata gameplay vid shows some promising improvements both graphically and to just the whole feel of the game - looking forward to it for sure :D

Obviously with so many others I was thrilled to get to see some more footage of the GoW2 gameplay, looking good. Also the revealing of the new multiplayer and 5 way co-op was to put it blankly to icing to a game that I had already been sold.

360 Fanbois had the joy of ps3 fanbois getting hit about FF losing its exclusitivity, although as per fasion as soon as 360 got its hands on the game they start damning the game saying its going to be rubbish anyway... wonder if they would have said that should Sony had kept the exlusitivity :hehe:

Overall a busy day from only 2 conferences :omg: Well least thats M$ and EA out of the way, lets see what tomorrow brings.

oh P.S - those waiting for the bungie announcement, look on their homepage for a timer in the bottom corner, once that hits 00.00.00 you can expect your announcement ;)

Thank God For That!

Well If you haven't already noticed I got the Top Spin 3 review out, only took 2 controllers (R.I.P) and a bruised knuckle or two, I have never been so frustrated by a game - this is the FIRST that I have even smashed a controller on, so that must say something.

Well now that is out the way, roll on E3.. which has nearly every Dev attending so will mean lots and lots and lots of news....

... Good for you, god help us staff writers, all hands on decks, batten down the hatches and all the other things you shout as a storm's a coming

A Good Game... Ruined

Ok so I have had a good blast on Top Spin 3, and god its stupidly hard now.

The new timed shot system is good in its own right, but for the game doesn't allow 'real' tennis, IRL If i was at a net I could volley it full whack just by holding my racket there, on this even though i'm volleying it, cause I hit it too 'early' as I didnt let it bounce I lose power and accuracy... why?

Also, whilst recieving serve, i move my guy so he is stood next to the balls path, not in the path, and hit for instance X to return, so what does my guy do - even though I timed the shot he leaps in the path with the automatic motion built in to the game then fails to hit the ball, letting it bounce off of him.

Now these issues along with the fact that at a certain level, even though I'm going for the 'easy' tournements, im still playing players a good 20+ overall level to me, so i get slaughtered, unable to keep up a good fight, then get 0XP, great, so I need to level my guy up to be able to beat the players and progress, yet I get 0XP so can't level him up as i get smashed, rinse and repeat and you get a frustrating tantrum :hehe:

Its not claimed a controller.....yet

If you have some tips or suggestions for me do comments as to what they are, you could save me £20

Hi y'all

I'll start off by saying thanks to those who took the time to share with me their thoughts on what game I should get, I managed to bag myself a copy of Top Spin 3 to review, Can't wait :D

Also thanks to our haggler I've gotten Lego: Indiana Jones, another I wanted but had no money for, will be whiping that in to the Xbox after this for sure :)

Finally Battlefield, Can't afford it so what I may do is rent it once i've done with lego indy, since April blockbuster now allows you to rent games out for 7 days so a couple of weeks worth of renting and I should have the money to buy it

So the moral of the story is, as long as you have your contacts, you don't need to be rich to stay up to date on games :D
