We've been informed that fixing the bug is actually pretty easy, has this been acheived yet?

DLC 09 to 10 Career bug

I don't know about the rest of you guys but it is freaking ridiculous that it is taking this long to come up with a fix for the issue. I work on testing, patching, and stuff like this on a daily basis and this shouldn't have taken more then a week to fix. Most responsible companies set up response teams to work straight through until the issue is resolved. I am assuming that monumental doesn't believe this is that big of an issue, but i can for one say that i spent a crap ton of hours playing through the career modes (and still want to) and without that ability the game is just collecting dust. I enjoy racing online with the rest of the people but i want to do it with the bikes i have put the time in for. I find it very frustrating that i waited god only knows how many months for a dlc just to break the game completely for me.

I didn't mean for this to be a rant more or less of a what the heck is the status on the fix thread. Communication has been horrible.

On another note the DLC for the moto 2 is going to correctly reflect the new 600cc bikes in name, sound, feel etc right? Please don't tell me its going to be a half baked 250 with a 600 sticker.

DLC Handling Feedback

I'm interested to hear what people think of the changes that Monumental made to the handling of the 1st DLC.

I know this is something Monumental are keen to develop, and some parameters were adjusted for the DLC to introduce some additional dynamics. So...

What have you noticed is different?

Feedback? Good or bad for those differences?

Please try to keep it to the differences you have noticed between the 2009 and 2010 handling models. Overall motorcycle handling has already been extensively covered in previous topics, so I'd like to hear how the 2010 DLC handling has been received.

Hey does anyone have any good setups that they would like to share for the 2010 bikes. Obviously there are no career bikes but does anyone have any good setups for time trial, career mode and multiplayer. I have heard that when you change your setups in time trial it changes the setups for xbox live when you race in career mode. Is this true?

can anyone confirm if the career bike issue is down to havening no 2010 125 or moto 2 bikes and is the second dlc free because there is a selection for premium content on multiplayer!

Warning: major BUG MGP09/10 DLC!

Unfortunately I must report a major DLC-bug.

I completed my 2009 career, and went to offers, chosen a 2010 bike (Yamaha) and then I got the following message when I wanted to start the 1st race-event:
http://www.inslijpatelier-facet.nl/gp0910/not.jpg

So, a 2010 career is not possible, my 2009 career (bike) is gone and when I now join a online 2010-game I can choose my previous 2009 Kawasaki ZX-RR in a 2010 game...ehhh??? When the online race starts the same message pops up!

And yes, the patch/update was downloaded previously automatically and the DLC was downloaded via Marketplace without any problems.

I'm sorry to say but I would advise not to download the DLC yet because of the obvious BUG!
>>>Update: well, you can download it safely. Just make sure you save your game-settings to a memory-card if you might want to try (and fail) starting a 2010 career (choose 2010 offer after finishing your 2009 MotoGP career).

Patch and DLC information

Hi everyone

THE FIRST DLC

The first 2010 MotoGP season update will be available to download ABSOLUTELY FREE of charge for Xbox Live and PSN users across Europe and Australia this week!

The new season content will arrive on Xbox Live tomorrow, Tuesday 6th July and PSN on Wednesday 7th July.

The first pack will include the brand new Silverstone (UK) track along with all the bike, rider and team livery updates for the MotoGP class from the current season.

Patch only:

Unlocks 250 and MotoGP Classes (2009).

Adds Lap Selector in Game Settings for non-Career mode races. (Laps added to the Rep Multiplier popup in career mode.)

Patch and DLC1:

Latest 2010 bikes and riders, plus Silverstone of course.

(Game structure removes Balaton track.)

Increased bikes in 2010 season.

All 2010 MotoGP Class riders will be unlocked.

After requests for changes to the handling model, we arranged for various members of the MotoGP forum communities to visit the Monumental Games studio over the past months, working with us on the bike handling. You'll especially notice a big difference in the 800cc handling in the DLC.

PLEASE NOTE: To get the patch, you must go online, where you'll be prompted to accept it. If you decline the patch, online mode may not work.

You WILL NOT be prompted to download the DLC. This is additional content that you will have to look for on PSN and X-Box, but it is available to both Gold and Silver customers.

Snapshots of our (real) MGP-race weekend at Assen.

Hello all MotoGP-friends,

Last weekend me and my girlfriend went to the MotoGP race-weekend @ Assen being guest once again of Scott Redding and his team: 'Marc VDS Racing team' (Scott Redding #45, Hector Faubel #55). It was another fantastic weekend for both of us. Although some of the races should have been closer at the front it was still great to be there. Scott had a very good race, battling his way towards the front. After getting the 7th fastest time in FP2, he struggled a bit during QP and unfortunately got the 20th position. However, during the warm up he was 8th fastest again showing he surely got the race pace and a good setup.

At the start he dropped back to 21th position within the massive swarm of riders going into the 1st corner. Then he had to fight his way back to 11th having great battles with many riders. He was closing in on them 1-by-1, and then passed all of them until he finally reached the 11th position. It was a very strong race for him. He had the 5th fastest laptime of the race, equally to the likes of Elias who were riding ahead. So, if he only improves on his QP then he will get close to the podium and possibly win once again. Naturally he already came very close to the podium at Silverstone (4th) finishing only 0.520 seconds behind the race-winner Julez Cluzel. In the 125 class our Norwegian friend Sturla Fagerhaug is getting closer and closer to get his first GP-points. This is his 1st GP-year and we're sure he will continue to improve as he is learning very rapidly.

Unfortunately I did not meet any more people I play MGP09/10 with @ xboxlive, but there was plenty to meet and greet in the paddock. I've also been updated with the latest news, gossip and I also discussed the MGP09/10-game with a few riders. Nevertheless, I am not going to jump into that discussion again... Might be sufficient to say that many riders play the game, for fun and also for practice!

Below are a few pictures of the people we met, I bet most GP-fanatics know most very well.

If anyone wants to see more pictures of this and the other GP-visits then look here. I've updated it today with Jerez and Assen pictures.

Kind regards and cu online!

What would you change in Moto GP 09/10 and beyond?

I've sat and read through the "Any News on the Patch?" thread and watched it break down into an arguement about whether it's a good game or not.... along with various disappointments being pointed out.

Now rather than have a 'who can shout their opinion the loudest and the most times?' competition, I think we should remain calm and constructive with our critisism and give the devs something they can use.

So....

Post here with your personal 'gripes' about the game.

I want bullet points broken down by specific game areas i.e. handling, livery, online, etc

Get it off your chest, present it to the devs in an easy to digest format and then get on with playing what we've got and let them get on with doing their best to give us all what we want.... deal??

Try to keep it to one post per user, and feel free to repeat an opinion of another forum member if you feel the same way, but no bashing!!

Once all has been said and done, I will see if I can pull together some stats to assess what the most vocal concerns are and pass it on to Steve @ Monumental.

On a 'real world' note;

Please do not go crazy if some things don't get addressed by the developers, I am aware of the timeframe in which they are expected to churn out a game and the license restrictions that can kill an idea the second it is thought up. So any frustration you may experience, is echo'd ten fold within the dev team.... they want to make the best bike game out there!!

And now back on topic... I'll start the ball rolling.

Handing

For me this is the main area in which the game needs addressing. I'm not asking for a 100% representation of life as it would be impossible to manage with a control pad. However, something that is a little more rooted in the real world would be a move in the right direction. Think Forza for bikes, not a hardcore sim but it gives you a real sense of achievement when you nail a good lap or clean overtake. Power wheelies on the throttle regardless of body position would be a nice idea, and would require the player to be smooth and progress with the throttle on the exit of corners to prevent wheel spin or wheelies. In terms of the brakes, I don't have many grumbles about the current game as overly sensitive braking physics in a game could take the joy out of it with low-side madness, however I do think they are too strong even for a GP game.

Livery Editor
I'd fully expect this to be too much for 09/10 and 10/11 but potentially for a version beyond that, can we have a full bike livery editor ala Forza user driven content is the 'in' thing, and a full livery editor helps us express our personal identity.

Career Mode
The RPG element of this is what I think gives 09/10 some soul, but I'd love to have seen it expanded on... go stat crazy, linked to your performance in the races, and based around leveling up your rider as well as researching new parts... AND... link it to online!! Online career is the way forward... just look at how many hours ppl are putting in on Modern Warfare 2... I know it's an FPS, but there has to be something to be learnt there

Online
For me the online system had potential, but just didn't seem to work for a racing game... so back to the old school host led lobbies please... and I would like to see my best lap time from a race when it's finished.

Laps
3 is a bit short lol

Right... step up with your comments... can keep it clean.

MotoGP 09/10 DLC

MotoGP 09/10 takes the series in an exciting new direction rewarding players for their racing style and skill on the track. Gamers will get all the riders, tracks and teams from the official 2009 MotoGP season AND free downloadable content from the 2010 season as it unfolds. The free update means gamers will be able to play the most up to date MotoGP season content earlier than ever before.

The first of the free updates for the 2010 season will be available for download in July and will deliver the brand new Silverstone UK track along with the bike, rider and team livery updates for the MotoGP class. The second update will be available shortly after and includes all the bike, rider and team livery updates for the new Moto2 class and 125cc class.

MotoGP 09/10 will deliver the most comprehensive Career Mode of any previous MotoGP title. Players take control of their career both on and off the track competing in races and hiring engineers, team managers and press officers to help further their career as a pro and ultimately win the MotoGP World Championship. Demonstrating your riding skills on the track through overtaking, slipstreaming and showboating will be rewarded with Rider Reputation points. Pushing too hard can be detrimental as crashes and collisions will reduce the reputation bonus awarded at the end of each race. The more Rider Reputation points you earn the more attractive you become to other manufacturers, sponsors and employees. Your team will also research upgrades for your existing bike to increase its performance.

Complementing Career mode is an all new ‘Arcade’ mode which introduces an exciting take on the overall objective. Time bonuses will be awarded for clean sections, sticking to the racing line, slipstreaming and race orientated objectives. The clock is counting down and you must finish before it reaches zero. How far can you get in the season before you run out of lives?

Gamers can compete in a full championship season across all three MotoGP bike classes playing as their heroes or as themselves, and pit their skills against players around the globe. The robust online mode includes spectator mode and game set up options where you can vote on how you would like to customise your racing session.

MotoGP 09/10 will include the following features:

o	Brand new exciting gameplay modes that deliver the ultimate GP racing experience
o	17 official circuits and all the bikes and riders from the 2009 GP season plus the ability to update the game with content from the 2010 championship as the season unfolds
o	Gain Rider Reputation points through your achievements on the track and use these to progress your career with new offers of contracts, manufacturers, staff and sponsorship deals
o	Dynamic racing objectives challenge riders during racing sessions
o	Compete against riders across the globe in online multiplayer mode in races with up to 20 players
o	Two player split screen allows you to compete against your friends locally
o	Select from 125cc, 250cc and 800cc championships with each class delivering its own exciting and unique bike handling set up.
