Who are XboxLiveAddicts?

Xboxliveaddicts was launched in August 2004 to provide a place where Xbox Live gamers could chat and arrange games together, although our founding members were grouped in 2002 on Xboliveaddicts' predocessor. Our roots stem from the community that surrounded the Xbox game MotoGP 2, bringing players together for organized games eliminated a lot of the frustration of the random "optimatch" and our league quickly took off as a result. Up until 2007, the MotoGP developers (Climax) and publishers (THQ) were closely involved with our site on a regular basis, now in 2010 we have Monumental Games posting and we are now one of the leading UK based Xbox fansites.

Have you, like us, found that using "optimatch" in games often leads to a bad gaming experience? Have you suffered verbal abuse? Racist comments? Profanity? Cheaters? Modders? Bad sports?

Optimatch is OK, but not really satisfactory to the discerning social gamer, you need somewhere you can meet up with your friends and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. Some game for instance have a lot of problems with abuse and general verbal diarrhea, not to mention modding and cheating. This is the kind of thing that we want to eliminate with our professionally organised leagues and tournaments.

How do I get involved?

We now run a variety of leagues, tournaments and events. Our biggest so far was our MotoGP3 Eliminator competition in celebration of the release of MotoGP 06, the competition was sponsered by THQ and Climax. We have also run leagues and tournaments for Project Gotham 3, Pro-Evoultion, Halo 2, Burnout, Ghost Recon and more. Examples of these can be found in our Hall of Fame

Post in our forums and you'll quickly become addicted to the community spirit at XBLA and your friend's list on Xbox Live will blossom into full bloom in no time. You can also join our XBLA clan, write and post your own game reviews, arrange your own one off event for others to enjoy or you can even get your questions emailed to one of the many game developers we are regularly in touch with.

Getting involved with XBLA is about joining the community we have become so proud of, letting everyone know who you are, what you're about and finding like minded individuals for fun and gaming frolics. Above all we welcome enthusiasm and good sportsmanship in all members and those not displaying such attributes are quickly dealt with by our self-policing members and staff.

What kind of game information can you offer me?

We fully support the MotoGP series through help, advice, information and with the developers support in our forums. Recently with Climax, we were able to help them patch their game to eliminate the cheaters from the scoreboards. Climax are always interested in the gamers point of view and are incorporating XboxLiveAddicts' members ideas into their future games. Becoming MotoGP3's official forums, we were able to spread the good word about the series to a much wider audience. We at XBLA believe that this direct gamer-developer link is a big step in the right direction for the advancement of games quality and we are striving round the clock to give you access to the people you want to talk to on the other side of the joypad.

Our forums offer a friendly family environment, with staff on hand 24hrs a day. We cover the latest Xbox/ Xbox 360 news and game reviews. With a growing number of game developers supporting their games, we are now able to give you far more detail on your favourite games. We also have forums for other consoles, PC support and general chat.
Need help with your avatar and signature? We offer that too thanks to our most talented team of graphic artists who love the practice. Need to unwind between games? We have many other features.

Magazine coverage

We are a member of the XCN (Xbox Community Network) group and our leagues and events were featured on Xbox.com and in OXM and OXM360 magazines each month. We have appeared a number of times in OXM and OXM360, credit goes to Community expert Luke Duke Newcombe who has mentioned us a few times on his page in OXM and Community Editor Ben Talbot for OXM360. Below are just a few of the magazine coverage we have achieved;
