Xtival Sponsored event Tekken 6 Knockout Tournament!

The Iron Fist tournament hits Xboxliveaddicts! Prepare to battle it out in a knockout competition over the weekend to not only be the Iron Fist Champ! But the Champ of XBLA!

To take part in the event you’ll need to have a registered account with Xboxliveaddicts, a valid Xbox Live Gold Membership and of course a copy of Tekken 6!

Sign ups will begin from today until Thursday 26th November. Applicants must follow those rules above to take part and sign up via this thread with your forum username and your Live Gamertag.

The following Friday morning the thread will be updated with the first round so you can see who’s fighting who. Depending on the response, the event should run over Friday evening (7.30pm), Saturday evening 7.30/8pm and hopefully the final on Sunday about 7.30/8pm again to crown the winner who will win some great prizes (prizes TBC)

Prizes:

1st Place - 12 Months Free Gold Membership to Xbox Live and 6,000 Microsoft Points!
2nd Place - 12 Months Gold Membership and 4,000 Microsoft Points!
3rd Place - 2,000 Microsoft Points

Rules:

- No characters are banned, though please refrain from using custom characters.
- The matches will last over 5 rounds, then both (or the winner) must report back to either myself (Mechanical R) or back on this thread who won so that I can prepare for the next set matches.
- Players are expected to be prompt and on time, players may wait for their opponent to come online and join the match for as long as they like, but no shows are forfeits and the person who showed up will go through to the next round.
- You’ll be expected to keep an eye on either this thread or any threads on the site regarding this competition to ensure you're kept up to date on the rules and who your opponents will be.
- Normal Microsoft Code of Conduct also applies, any reports of breaking of either our or MS’s rules will lead to disqualification.
- This competition is open to UK residents only.

Important:

- Please ensure that you have room to add your opponent onto your friends list to allow inviting to matches easier.
- If you cannot make the allotted time of 8.30pm. You may change the time as long as both you and your opponent can make it. The match must be played out before 5pm the following day (Saturday 28th)
- Once the match is completed, Ill need the winner to send me a message with the stats of who won so I can ready for the next match. If all goes to plan, and no other people join, the final will be Sunday.

Here's what the host needs to do.

Go to the online menus and select Player Match.
Find Create Session and set the settings to the following:

Rounds - 4
Round Time - 60
Max Players - 2
Private Slots - 1

The final two settings are to ensure no unwanted guests will join your session.

Of course, play fair and enjoy the event!

I take it the first post is meant to say sign ups until Thursday 26th November, rather than the 28th (which is a Sat... and in the middle of the event.. ;-) )

I'm tempted to join this - I suck at Tekken, and haven't even tried the online yet - I've heard it can be a bit laggy??

Oh and another quick question, will this be one fight each per night or more? - Just wondered so I can plan my weekend accordingly!!

Thanks for that, got my dates all muddled

Ive not yet taken the online for a spin yet, so I dont know on its status of lag yet.

As for the number of fights, I cant give a large estimate until I get a rough idea of how many people will sign up, then i can work out how many matches will be needed to be played

Ive played a few matches on Tekken 6 online - some were laggy others were perfect - was just down to the other persons connection and where they were (e.g. if they lived in UK (where i live) Connection was solid, if they lived in USA connection was reasoable, but if they lived in Asia area (etc) then it was laggy).

most matches i played were rather fine, some werent exactly laggy - it just went slow-mo (for both players)....pitty i dont have this game anymore though (got rid one i got full 1000 GS on it LOL).

Yeah same here, much better than UFC though. The lag was nasty as hell I would join but I'm at work 6 -9 on the friday Who knoes? Maybe it'll spontaneously combust or something?

Sign me up! Gamertag Marine619. The lag on Tekken 6 isn't too bad if you luck out. I've had a run of matches with perfect connection only to have incredibly laggy matches the next day.
