Dunno, it’s never happened… in fact I haven’t died yet… honest!
What thoughts / words go through your mind as you get killed... by Mush's sticky grenades whilst she is on your team...? – Daz
”Why did Mush have to be on my Team?...”. I do my best to know where she is, and make sure I’m somewhere else lol. I seriously have no idea how she manages to do it every game without fail.
IYO what differences are there between the second and third Halo, and do they make an impact in any way? – Nbkrooney
Oh wow theres like a million differences. Well, more than I can list and talk about anyway. I guess the single biggest difference is the speed of the game, now somwehere between the original Halo and Halo 2. You have more time to react to what’s happening but the intensity of the comabt has suffered a bit. I’m not sure if I like it better this way or not. Halo 3 seems to be a lot more about Teamwork rather than individual skill; you’re a lot less likely so survive a 2 on 1 encounter than you were in Halo 2 now we have a semi-useful starting weapon in the AR. The ‘x button’ weapons seem a bit gimmicky to me. They’re fun and can result in some hilarious kills but they just add to the overall impression that Bungies aim with all these changes was to level out… everything.
What would you say is a good average kill total in any game type for you? – Nbkrooney
Well in Slayer I’m happy with 10-15 kills, anything over that and I’ve either been lucky or the game was a mismatch. It’s not all about kills though, your kills to death ratio is much more important. You could get 29 kills for your Team and die 30 times meaning you’ve done nothing at all. In objective games it’s all about making the kills that count, at the right time, rather than the total amount.
How do you use your weapons to great effect? – Glenn819
Pull the right trigger, that seems to work pretty well!
Would you say its lived up to the hype (considering gameplay graphics all that kind of stuff) that it was giving before its release? – ChathamBoyDave
To be honest it was never going to live up to the hype. The campaign mode was a let down yet again but that’s almost a given, ever since they chose to drop the Elites as enemies in favour of the Brutes. The story and overall excitement of the game has suffered ever since. There’s been some odd choices in multiplayer too. Drop the tracking on the plasma pistol (good thing, no more n00b combo). Bring in a ridiculously overpowered needler and dual-weild shotguns. Ok then. Point being and I think I’ve posted this before somewhere that, with everyone having their own ideas on what would make Halo 3 perfect, right from the outset Bungie didn’t stand a chance. Overall I think they’ve done a great job, yet have failed to totally nail it in any single area.
Do you think the achievements were too easy to get considering most people will be playing this game for the next 6 months solid and a lot of people I know have already got over 900 points? – ChathamBoyDave
Yes and no. The meta game achievements were a bit of a cop out imo. I’d rather of seen one cheev for 15,000 points on all levels, than one cheev per level. Just seems like a lazy way to make it to the 50 mark without having to think up something more original. Then there’s the cheevs that can only be gained in Lone Wolves mode which has lead to the "Hey do you wanna play for achievements?" question in just about every game you enter. I don’t think they’re necessarily too easy, just a little… boring?
Do you reckon the story line could have ended better? – ChathamBoyDave
Yes, yes and yes. I won’t go into details in case theres people reading this that haven’t finished the game yet (shame on you!) but…. aww c’mon! lol
At least it was a little better than Halo 2. Just.
What part of Halo 3 is your favourite? – Moonsun 1
Not sure I’m answering this is in the way you want, but defintaley the multiplayer. On the original Halo there were campaign levels that I player over and over again for fun. In Halo 3 the only reason I’ve gone back to redo some of them is to find the skulls or to help someone out on Legendary co-op.
What weapons do you prefer to use and what is the easiest way to kill people who always use the sword, they always seem to kill me grrr – DGJonsey
I still love the sniper rifle and will grab that unless I know there’s a better sniper on the Team, plus I’ll always pick up a BR at the first opportunity. Whether I swap out the AR for something else depends on the map I’m playing. It’s a decent short range weapon and is worth keeping a lot of the time. As for people that always use the sword (god knows why, its an awful weapon now) just plant a sticky on them, easy if they’re daft enough to run at you in a straight line.
How did you manage to get to Elite status on a game thats only been out a week? – Ixx JD XxI
Beats me! biggrin.gif I somehow got the job of answering a bunch of questions, that’s pretty much all I know. At least that would be my answer if my ego and the truth would allow it. Fact is though that I was born a legend and am destined to rule the universe.
What do you think of the maps in halo3?? What’s your favorite and why? And which is your least favorite and why?? – Soans
To be honest they’re a little underwhelming. I’m getting used to them more now and am starting to like a couple, but when I first started playing I wasn’t impressed at all. My favourite? I guess that would be Narrows as it makes for some interesting games with the 2 level walkway, man-cannons, plenty of cover and the weapon placement like it is. I think Bungie got that one about right. The one I like least is Construct as 99% of the battles take place at the top of one of the lifts. The angles are limited and you just end up doing the same thing over and over. The entire bottom deck seems reserved for spawning or chasing the odd kill that’s tried to drop down out of the way. Just seems like a waste of a map to me.
Alot of people say that sniping in halo 3 is harder than it was in halo 2, would you agree? – Soans
Oh definitely. Sweep-sniping seems to be out, which is a good thing, although I still manage to get the odd dodgy kill now and again. Plus you can’t fire off two rounds in 1/3 of a second if you miss the headshot. It’s harder for sure but it’s also much more satisfying now, too.
What’s your view on halo 3's graphics? Because I think there pretty amazing and I can’t understand why some people say they are rubbish. – Soans
I’m quite happy with the graphics actually. I think part of the perceived problem is that we’ve seen games like Bioshock, for example, push the 360 a little further in terms of effects and overall quality. Halo 3 doesn’t have the best graphics on the system that’s for sure, but you can hardly call them rubbish.
Do you have any certain tactics on the way you play on each map? Any tips? – Soans
Well, my ‘style of play’ generally means I’ll end up with half a million assists and the least amount of deaths on the Team. I take it slow and don’t chase down kills unless I’m fairly sure I’m not about to run into the rest of the opposition, back to the old kills-to-death ratio point. If you’re after specifics on each map that’s hard to give as it depends on what the opposition is doing and what weapons they’ve managed to get hold of. The ‘rules’ you could apply to any map in any situation? Control the power weapons, be aware of where they are at any given point, whether they’re ‘dry’, when they’re likely to respawn. Don’t leave your sniper undefended. Stick together. Communicate with your Team; what you’re doing, where the opposition are. Be aware of the spawn points and where the opposition will spawn if you push into certain areas (i.e. behind you). If you lose sniper/rockets and the like, warn your Team as soon as it happens and where you lost them. The main point is that realising your part of a Team and playing your part effectively, is key.
Ok what rank are and this is a big one (we could problem fight over it) could you beat me? I know I have not played you and do not know your skill and you do not know mine so lets see that ego. – JUSTHunter
Ok, well my highest rank at the moment is a 40. I’ve checked you out on Bungie.net and our stats aren’t dissimilar. What can I say? If you want me to help out with making your stats a little worse, send me an invite and we’ll play
Grrrrrr lol
L0CI, how come my stickies always land on you even when I direct them at someone else? – Mush xx
Err… that’d be because you can’t aim straight and I happened to be within 30 feet of the person you were throwing them at. Ps I would’ve been perfectly fine had you not ‘helped’ me
Are you hoping for any kind of DLC? – Mech R
Oh hell yeah. To be honest I can’t see Bungie releasing any kind of weapon based dlc, that’d be a move away from the norm. I reckon we’re looking at maps for our dlc fill and I’d say it’s a given we’ll receive them at some point. On the most wanted list would have to be and updated version of Coagulation (Valhalla while decent just doesn’t cut it) and also Lockout. Plus some brand new ones of course.
Oh and they could tack on a decent ending to the campaign if they wanted
How are you feeling about your safety in the Halo 3 league when we start playing the top teams in the groups? – Mech R
Theres 4 Teams in the League that’d give us a hard fight, two of these we’ll avoid due to the way the draw has worked out. The toughest of the bunch, from what I’ve seen so far, we’ll meet in the semi-final. If we can get past them then Crazy88s are good for the win
