Other lists could be made, fasts riders in general however would be endless.
How about Dirty Lappers who perfected that art, I can start that list.
TLH Warscootman
King Kenwood
A N U B I S (Slacker 696)
Of course many other lists could be made as well.
Can't believe I came across this thread after years away from MGP. Crazy you left me off this list.. with over 15 DL titles and 25+ King of Carnage titles, I surpassed all three of those guys, haha.
Just had to get that out there... I was also top 15 in every moto gp, didn't matter the game, I was always consistently at the top. Ok, enough about me. MGP 2 will always be the best game.. NSR for life.
I'd also add KnErO to the list, he was pretty good.

Me for one, although rather than "Leading by example" I tend to lose.
Our Ste was good back then (SteandHeYjOe tag), often ask him why he's never bothered with any bike games since. He's had a few goes on 'em but his honest answer is they've gone downhill, kinda "where's that" "Why did they do that" "You're kiddin' me" etc. He'll play if a games good but can't see the point in dedicating time to get good again on broken games so just doesn't bother.
I think that's the main reason MGP2 was successful, it worked. People say it was down to the selection of games being smaller back then, I can go along with that to a degree but if it had similar problems to 09/10/11 I doubt there'd have been the same following. The connection issues would have killed it in it's tracks, dead. Nah there's far more to why that game was great at the time than shortage of opposition in the software dept.

Personally for me the GP07 is the best of the best, but I like the GP 2 also, I have trouble against the GP 3 and yet the extreme mode of GP 3 and played more than the GP mode...
Thanks all
Sorry for my bad english

MGP2 still the best all-rounder for me, the game got watered down after that.
Reasons, the loss of the over-all rank being visible in lobbies / no alphabet in the livery editor / plus Extreme (hated) added when the basic fun parts of MGP2 would have sufficed (the bike handlin' remained as in GP mode not a different set as was the case in Extreme)

Me? I can take it or leave it but if pressed I'd say yes, it wasn't "real" but then again no racing game is "real" . Purists will shoot me down but fact is many bikers who ride daily probably put more hours into that game than sitting on their bike.
We loaded MGP2 into the slim yesterday, pity you can only use a button for accelerate rather than the trigger but within one lap our Ste threw the "slide" in and verbally announced "Get in there"

its the basic game faults that anger me.
i accept im not going to like all bike games, some styles wont suit me and i accept that.but ill still try my ass off at getting a good time,a good racer can adapt, although i accept these games take more than adapting.
for me after a few months at 0 sim i tried 100 and prefered it.
athough double tap 0 sim was good fun,it doesnt belong on a bike game for me.some old skool fast people would tell you its an artform..rubbish,its the only thing they were ever good at so obviously it becomes the holy grail.

Hi jOe
Yes. Easy to learn but hard to master, it only aided competitivness as once you were semi-competent you could ride 1460 and keep pace with the fast lads (except Mr Never Crash (aka Pitkin)) as they were all far too busy firing themselves at the scenery at least once per lap.

Gotta say I enjoyed 0% sim the best, I could easily ride the 100% as I used mediums and didn't "slide" as much as some but what fun I had on that game. It did kinda cater to everyone. Let's not forget King of Carnage & Skid Pan Derby's which were ALWAYS ever present for a great laugh, both being sub games made up by the community (bar the points system helped for skid-pan). In fact the guy who came last in the League race generally chose 100% / wet for the last race and that was some fun watching the "sliders" go down, and the game INFORMED you who & when that happened so you could verbally rub it in....seems all so simple on paper but it done the job just fine for competitive/absorbing/exciting racing entertainment. No-one since has quite grasped the fundamentals of that game.
I'd have been well happy with that game plus upgraded graphics/riders/livery, instead we've had to put up with far less functional and entertaining games since (I include the later Climax games in that due to certain stuff getting "pulled").
As for "the future is grim" pete, I agree with you unless someone has the gonads and intelligence to take a long hard look at the history of the series and "cherry pick" the best ideas, wagon loads of which MGP2 contains to this day!
As Maria once sang :
"Let's start at the very beginning
a very good place to start
when you read you begin with A B C "...................NOT x y z.
In fact she went on with even more words of wisdom:
"do-re-me are only the tools to build a song
once you have those notes in your head
you can sing a million different tunes by mixing them up"....how true
