WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 09
The men and women are back in the lyric outfits.
WWE 09 promises to uphold its commitment to provider gamers with the definitive simulation of live wwe programming, featuring added depth and realism, along with the first ever co op storyline, WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 enables players to come together and experience the virtual world of the WWE. ON your own you’re great, but together you’re unstoppable.
The experience you can expect is a Tag Team explosion WWE unleashed a brand new tag team match, where you build up for momentum and attributed as a team, destroy opponents with high impact double teams, pull off new bone crunching tag team finishers and get the hot tag to win.
Pave your way to WWE’s biggest event of the year through a new story mode which features the franchise’s first ever co op storyline, (well this is what THQ said but I think what they forgot to mention was that the co op side can’t be done on live, it has to be done on the same system).
Construct the most devastating moves ever unleashed in a WWE ring with this brand new interface, WWE 09 lets players customize all aspects of created superstar, even their very own finishing move.

Like every other franchise in the gaming world, they try to improve upon last years release and with WWE 09 release they have made some vast improvements, the last WWE game I played was back in 2007, there is a lot more modes to keep you going which can only add to the longevity of the game. But they have also kept all the features such as taunting your opponent, picking up weapons from under the ring. And added a nice new match inferno but have kept all the ladder matches and hell in a cell and so on, so they have still got all the favourite match types
Wrestlemania story mode is where you take 6 selected wrestlers through the story of there fight to wrestlemania, each character has a selected path to wrestlemania and with certain fights you can unlock things when you complete the challenges put out in front of you before the match starts, one might be to make your opponent submit another might be the make your opponent bleed, you can also take one of the story’s on with a friend, but this can’t be done over live it has to be done on the same console. You will find a lot of talking going on as the story for your character builds up to the main event, when you’re not fighting you is in the locker room where you can take phone calls, read emails and read notes you have left for yourself.
Create a wrestler is what you would expect, you design and create your wrestler from the ground up, picking skin colour, hair styles, outfits and scars but there are many more things you can do, here you are able to create your own entrance, music to enter in to from the stuff that is already available on the game, you can also create your entrance so you can have your wrestler entering as a boxer. And with even more control over your created wrestler you can now create your very own finishing move from the extensive list of moves stored in the game.
The Highlight reel is a nice touch, now you can pause the game at any stage in a match and save and reply any of your match clips you think that are worthy, you can also adjust the camera angle you are saving and replying your clips so that you can get a better angle or view. These clips can be shared with anyone who has the game, but there is no support for you to be able to download the clips to YouTube or places as such, which I think if this feature was added it would make it that much better.

In the career mode you choose the wrestler you want to take all the way to the top of the ladder and hold all the belts that are available to you. Once you have selected the wrestler you want, you are put on path of a belt so you might be put on the path to claim the United States Championship belt or the tag team belts so you best be ready to take on all comers. Plus this is the only way to build up your created wrestlers stats as all the other modes won’t allow this. So if you want to get your created wrestler up there with the best and get his stats on the up you best take control of him in career mode and defeat all that is put in front of you .
Tournament mode you can take part in two pre installed tournaments or create your own and take your wrestler to victory
On Xbox live you take on all your friends on live, or take random strangers on in ranked matches and prove to the world you are the best out there, you can either take part in ranked matches or player matches, and you can take a look at the leader boards to see who is top and compare your stats against friends

Graphically the game looks very crisp and clear, they have put a lot of effort in to getting this up to standard on the next gen consoles, the crowds look more life like then ever and are for ever waving banners about and making noise from there seats, the wrestlers look more real life as well and react to being hit a lot better than I remember on the old version I played. the game play is not to difficult to pick up and you as always get a indicator letting you know when to do certain moves, THQ have added some nice new abilities to this years release such as hiding behind a ref, dirty pins and plenty more for you to get your teeth in to, sound wise the game has all the entrance music you expect from the wrestlers and the crowd making plenty of noise. If you are a hardcore WWE fan you will most likely find flaws in this game, but as for me not being a big WWE fan I have found this game to be a lot of fun and have had plenty of fun wrestling against my kids on the Xbox and they absolutely love the game.
