Hi Guys,

I know the great thing about XBL is you can play online with Voice chat etc. But nothing beats getting a group of people together for a gaming session all under one roof. Pizza, a few beers (or wine... I like wine) and a never ending supply of rolling tobacco. It's also a great way to build upon friendships you may have already started.

Has anyone done anything like this around here? If not, would anyone be interested in maybe looking at the logistics behind setting up a day as an event?

Obviously things like Location, Venue and Transportation would need to be looked at. But I would be willing to assist there.

Anyway, just an idea I thought I would throw out there.

Regards,

R.

Sound idea and yes, it has been done previously and with some success i seem to recall.

To my mind the venue needs to be someone's house - with sleepover available for those unable to pass a breathalyser test successfully. Location - somewhere a bit nearer to my place (Oxford) with transport handled by each individual.

Of course, if we have any Hotel Managers on the firm in the Salisbury/Andover/Basingstoke area then the possibilities would be greatly enhanced. :D

Well if people show an interest, I am sure we can look at arranging one. :D

Yeah i've been to & had a few gaming meetups with people from here :) & as Shag said, we usually get someone with a free house for a weekend (best on bank holiday weekends) & gate crash it :D

oh & that definitely does usually lead to plenty of tobacco, beer & pizza lol.

It'd be great to get something properly organised with a good amount of us from here, would maybe need to look at hiring somewhere out for a weekend....location will probably be the most important thing.

If you'd like to see pics from previous meetups have a look at the following links;

Pictures looked great! Seems like they were long, alcohol fuelled weekends... the best kind.

How about the end of November - beginning of December? Give me time to practice some first.

Definately interested in going. How much are tickets?

October is looking to be quite an expensive month (White Water Rafting in the middle of the month) so I need to be careful.

The London Venue? If so, then count me in for definite.

In regards to the get together, I was talking to Mushy earlier (I mean Mush) and the suggestion was made that maybe we could also do something like Paintballing, or another outdoor activity. Combine the lot for a weekend of Paintballing, Booze, Pizza and all night gaming.

Sounds great to me. What does everyone else think?

I'm always open for meet ups of any sort, never had a bad one yet to date :D As long as I have enough notice for work that is.

What Day(s) are people going to eurogamer expo?

I'm probably going to do a single day. Most likely the Saturday in London. Would be great if there was a small or even big group of us.

Excellent stuff! Just need to work out the numbers of people that would be interested in coming along, and also a venue for any evening activity we want.
