Mechanical R: Having written a number of blockbuster scores including Iron Man, has the process been any different work with Medal Of Honor?
Ramin:Not really. There was a 100 minutes of music to be written. The nice thing was that I got involved very early on, so we had time to experiment.
MR: With EA's new cinematic approach towards the storytelling within Medal of Honor, how has this affected the power behind your pieces?
Ramin:The great thing about the game is that it was treated like a film. The role of the music was to create a nice arch to tell the story. We really focused on creating a nice balance between action and emotion.

MR: Had the controversy surrounding the game affected the team and how you've had to work within the past few months?
Ramin:The idea behind the music was always to tell a powerful emotional story. Everybody seemed happy with the direction we were heading.
MR: What were your inspirations for writing the scores to the game?
Ramin:The great story of the game guided me through the score. There are so many emotional aspects in the game, from strong confidence to feeling loss. The Medal of Honor franchise depicts cruelty of war on such a deep level. It was great to emphasize that with music.
MR:Is it easier to compose for films or games?
Ramin:The biggest difference in writing the score is that most pieces in the game are not synced to picture. It can be a very liberating process, but can also become difficult when the picture is not guiding you as much. So it’s not really easier or harder, but just different.

MR:Do you feel like there is a large sense of competition within composers in games these days? With the like's of Martin O'Donnell (Halo Franchise)
Ramin:I never look at other composers as competition. In fact, a lot of my friends are composers that inspire me.
MR: Would you consider writing more music for games in the future? Or future Medal Of Honor titles?
Ramin:Anything can happen. I definitely enjoyed the process of working on a game. Let’s just see.
