Hey,
I won't be there for this weekends race. I didn't know about last weekend or I would have tried to be there. I am down to race the long races tho. Especially when the moto2 bikes release. If you could keep us a heads up that would be great!

yep it was good fun, think I was 4th but well back from the top podiums, no-way could I keep the front runners pace up plus we were all battling further back anyhow. I'll try to keep you informed Drink, I can only make some weekends due to shift work patterns so will just jump in when able. Jon will be keeping track of the points I should imagine but it's not "chiselled in stone" official more a tester season with anyone who's there on the night to race (think I'm right in stating that). If I remember right there was hardly any gap times for the top 3 podium after 20 laps.

Hello people,

Great racing that was, all different strategies and ways to approach the race. Tire worn really makes it very interesting, as personally I messed up at the first few laps so I had to push very hard to get back to the leaders who were already some dots in the horizon at that time. After I found some rhythm I arrived at a higher pace then the front runners taking the lead only to find that the tires were losing grip rapidly making me lose positions again. At the end I was able to catch up with John (Rossi in Rosso) but unfortunately he crashed at the 1st corner moments later. Then I came very close to the leader as he was struggling as well, but had to settle for 2nd. Good race and well done for all! Congratulations for D3ViLz L0T3K (Fury) for his win!

As far as I could see everybody enjoyed it. Results can also be found following this link.

Great race. I had a lot on prior to racing so came in "cold" for the race then almost crashed first corner  Not one of my favourite tracks.....looking forward to Jerez though B)
So easy to get "sucked in" by the pack at the start and overshoot.

I haven't had a chance to jump in yet but I might be around for tomorrow any chance we can take a vote to see in the room, or a party, or here even to go ahead and change to the moto2 bikes for the 20 lapper?

I've just come off a 4day shift and shakin' with a cold/flu myself so wouldn't have made one lap

As for Moto2 & 125's not really that interested, just wish they'd spent all that time & money getting a fully functional MGP to work, with all the information at hand in a lobby.

All the info was out there and suggested prior to 09/10 being released, Monumental inferred they'd changed stuff just wait and see. Well we did see and anything they'd added worked abysmally, whoopie for the useless "ticker-tape", give me the option to view the boards in full from the lobby.

I'll still be playin' and will get the next version but Jeez get it ALL sorted will ya Monumental it's gonna grate again if you don't.

I don't think you've yet fully grasped how all this affects the success of the finished sales, in fact I know you haven't fully grasped it judging by quote Greg " In Multiplayer, (at the moment), you will have to agree in lobby which track everyone is going to vote for – so players can tune there setup appropriately. Although this is not ideal, Ripping out the voting system is something we didn’t want to do. Where possible we wanted to add features (Customisable controls, setup in the lobby etc). Then spending time re-factoring old ones. Although this is under constant review" That one reply says so much to me, gotta ask why the hell that wasn't jumped on from a great height?........completely baffled, customised controls are a foregone and should NEVER have been passed over the first time so it isn't an addition, set-up in lobby isn't gonna be that much better due to the voting system either, only saving grace is we'll not have to use a work-around but that's again down to bad implementation on your part.

quote "Then spending time re-factoring old ones" the old ones stunk? That's why you'll have to spend time!

I had a really fun although lonely race. Next time I will go with a proven set-up. Deano you must admit that the hard tires got you worried there at the end. :wheelchair: Anyway slow and steady wasn't the worst way to go. LOL

Race was indeed good fun, and the tires lasted quite okay until the end. At the end they were surely sliding bad, but still ridable with some considerations. I had a great battle the whole race with killer and our pace was very fast and we swapped position a couple of time (annoying SLIPSTREAM-TROUGH with collisions OFF LOL). Only at lap 19 I made small mistake (rear tire slightly hit the gravel) with great consequences. I lost about 0.8 seconds just when I was right on killers tail feeling quite confident about my tires and pace. This mistake forced me to push harder in the very last lap on worn tires which wasn't resulting in a faster laptime at all  All in all a great race and a well deserved win for killer.

My fingers were in pain after the race :glare:

Spacey.

It isn't bad if you are out front. But if you are racing against those who use Auto gears then you have pretty much no chance. I hope this is something else they address. I wished they would get rid of it since it is actually cheating, hahaha.

Well, I respect everyone in the room (also not so fast riders), and I know pretty much all the people who are really fast (in-race, not only on the leaderboards) with our without manual gears. 99.9 % is riding with auto-gears at the moment, and anyone can choose whatever they prefer. DrinkToo is never complaining or making excuses, he is simply enjoying the challenge. DrinkToo would never say that he lost because of Manual or whatever other reason, and he knows most of the fast European riders and loves to race with us. But, I surely wouldn't call people who use auto-gears cheaters as it's just part of the game (as it was in all previous MGP-games).

However, the French player Ghostrider (on my friends list) who is mostly the nr.1 on the leaderboard at MotoGP IS using manual gears and he wipes the floor @ the leaderboard with mostly all players with or without manual. He never raced that much online, but lately he was going faster and faster in the online lobbies as well before Moto2 came around. So, Ghostrider surely had a advantage using Manual gears, as he was able to make it work perfectly posting all these superfast times.

The not-mappable buttons are probably the biggest problem. I agree that manual should be a advantage, as it is more difficult, and I think it was already confirmed that it will be a advantage in MGP10/11. So, will manual gears be cheating in MGP10/11, in my opinion: NO! :D None is auto-gears. :acute:

Tyre I have done extensive research on times with all the bikes from 09 on up. The advantage on the motogp bike with automatic was pretty significant, I'll say .75 second or more. The advantage of the auto on the moto2 bike is only just .50 per lap. Maybe a touch more so I think they are getting closer. I will say that I am faster with the manual than a lot of people are on the auto gears, but I can utterly crush my manual ghost within 2 laps on any track with auto. OBTW I have been using manual gears since I started playing motogp2 back in 2003 so I figure 7 years experience would make me pretty much a pro at using the manual gears.
