Not sure if there's a thread already, I did look - but couldn't find one.

Some websites, (one I despise with writers I have fallen out with, different story haha), and also TVGB reported on it since receiving dog tags that a Modern Warfare announcement is due soon on the website findmakarov.com which counts down to the Games Developers Conference. Although Activision deny everything & anythinng until official announcements are made, they did do the same thing with MW2 and CoD:Blops... so we all know this is them and something new & great (or not so great) is coming along.

I've also been told a lot of other things like spin off games, massive dlc projects, prequels and in total now there are 5 developers working on the CoD franchise in some way or another. (Sledgehammer, IW, TreyArch, Raven and BeachHead Studio's) - so Call of Duty this year is expected to be in huge quantities. I for one can't wait and hope that when the new Modern Warfare is announced in a few days time it is a full blown MW3 sequel and not an inbetween step back prequel although I'd buy it anyway

Anyone else hoping for something in particular, hoping for new features or something removed - like CoD Points?

edit... read that Activison say the countdown is a hoax site, but a bit odd gaming websites being sent metal dogtags with the engravings... wonder what will be shown at the end of the countdown!

It turns out both those theories are wrong. After some sleuthing I can confirm that the site has nothing to do with a game publisher or developer. Don’t expect a game announcement to pop up when the countdown ends.

Keighley says the countdown was created by We Can Pretend, a Toronto-based group that supposedly working on a Call of Duty-inspired project of some sort. Keighley added "production sources who worked on the self-funded project call it visually spectacular."

The reason it's not on here as news is that it wasn't a fact, Activison had already stated it as a hoax and said they had nothing to do with it, all the news I post are facts backed up by their publishers. Members are welcome to post rumours however.

A new Modern Warfare is rumoured to come out this year sometime and will probably be announced at either GDC or E3.

Thanks for the info Mush. Although I wasn't questioning why it wasn't news, just usually wherever I go if I create a thread there's usually been a ton already ... at least regardless of rumours there is a Call of Duty game this year and I am totally looking forward to finding out exactly what it is...

...and damn! I'm too old for hang-overs I think, never had such a bad day as this when I was in my 20's

Most of our regular posters come from the beginning of Xbox LIVE and are probably fed up with sequels lol that's the only reason I can think of, hence o Coxon o's reply.

i agree which is why im now back on playing Grid

i will probably rent it out as i love the modern warfare campaign but i wont be paying another £40 to activision
