My partner and I are event organisers in Scotland (as well as avid gamers ourselves)

We are reviewing the idea of starting an Xbox LAN tournament/event in Scotland that will put the Console League status in Scotland on a par with that of the game development side. We have a venue on board that is known as one of the best in Scotland and can hold anywhere up to 5000 (not that we expect to fill even a fraction of this capacity to start with).

We propose the event to run on several games for example Halo Reach, COD bo, Forza, Fifa, Guitar hero, Rock band etc etc. The event will be a 'Bring your own console and game' event to begin with and the entry fee will reflect this (fees and prizes to be confirmed). Having the venue on board we have more than enough staff and experience of hosting events of all natures, we have the I.T expertise nailed including all the necessary AV equipment that will be required. We are currently in discussions with sponsors and software developers to get other attractions available to make this a real 'Celebration of all things gaming'

With all this in mind we are not looking for advice on the viability of this as a business model, just whether there are any Xbox gamers on here that would be interested in something like this and any suggestions on what you would expect from such an event with any additional suggestions, time to get serious up north guys ! !
