“tonight I splice my mead with goblin blood”

The green skins are coming, and they want to escape their own world through the rift and into our world. The only thing standing in their way is you, the apprentice battle mage. Orc’s Must Die from Robot Entertainment, is the story of the last defender of the rifts, the magical portals that connect the Orc’s world to ours. Take control of the apprentice battle mage and stand your ground as an unending horde of green stupidity marches its way toward the rifts. At its core ’O.M.D’ is a 3D tower defence game that sees you defending twenty-five unique fortresses using six weapons and spells. while taking advantage of seventeen traps that range from tar pits and arrow walls to archer guards and spring boards.

The aim of the game is to stop the horde reaching the rift while earning points to buy and upgrade new traps. Bonus points can be earned through cleaver combinations of traps and using the environment around you. So for example you can lay down a floor of tar with axe and arrow walls to thin out the crowd, while the Orc’s that get through stumble across a spring board conveniently pointed towards a huge pit of lava. The whole time taking pot-shots at the sea of green with your trusty crossbow. With all the possible combinations of traps at you disposal, replay fortresses and let your imagination run wild.

Visually ’O.M.D’ is a treat, with great detail on the blood, flying heads and other body parts. With the music and quirky one liners complementing and adding to the overall feel of the game. The level design is spot on and delivers just the right amount of challenges against the overwhelming enemy. But if you do find it to tough, there are two difficulty modes with a third ‘nightmare mode’ waiting to be unlocked if you don’t.

Leader boards are included with local and world wide boards, So smash, chop, flip and burn your way to the top and become the worlds greatest Orc slayer. Or just prove you are better than all of your friends.

Two-hundred achievement points and two Avatar awards await you amongst the blood and torn green flesh so start setting those traps.

In my opinion Orc’s Must Die is the best tower defence game I have played. It has just the right mix of nice colourful graphics, humour and addictive game play to keep you entertained for hours.
