So with all of these 'online pass codes' being used to put people off buying traded in games, what does this mean for the trade in generation. Is it a good move by the industry or will launch sales suffer because of people waiting for the price to go down instead of buying new or traded. What do you think about it? After all it may directly affect you....

I personally don't like it, but I can understand why publishers have to got his far to prevent second hand sales, it really affects their revenue and profits. Retailers like GAME, Gamestation, HMV and.. even Tesco refuse to give the publishers any of the profit they make from second hand games. The profit they make is huge to, you may sell your game to them for £15 and then they will sell it on for £28-38, so thats more then a 100% profit and chances are they also sold it to you in the first place.

I think its a good way to battle trade in priced games. I never really trade games in & always buy new so it has no real impact on me.

I can see how it will annoy those who buy second hand trade in games & then if they want to play online they'd have to buy the pass...

Another reason I never buy 2nd hand games is because I know how much they gave the person who traded it in & then how much they are reselling it for.

I've even come across 2nd games going for more than the game is brand new in the same store :beamme:

I think it's just another money making scam, If people like it or not it would'nt change. It's just the big boss finding more ways to get extra cash out of peoples Pockets, Pay for Xboxlive and then Pay for codes to play games on live what an Insult to all gamers. I don't buy second hand games but when I put one of these codes in for first time just to play part of the game that was advertised as part of the standard game anyways, What an insult. Also these DLC packs released before the game what ball crap... atleast leave it Untill a month after. They try to make people pay for stuff that was already in the game, This Code "naughty word alert" is the same...soon to be the norm
