So, by now you've probably seen the new trailer released earlier today. What do you all reckon?

Personally, its uninspiring. I know its a teaser trailer but to me, it just looks like GTA 4 with the clouds deleted and planes. I guess really it will really have to be what they show off in the future and on release that will change my opinion on the series.

Old GTA's would get me excited under the idea that I could have infinate possibilities on what to do and have fun, a true sandbox. Since GTA 4 though I feel more like Im playing the Sims.

Anyhoo, what about you?

I'm probably the opposite, absolutely loved GTA4 & all of the add-on story's for it, I liked how it took a more serious approach to that game.

I love the GTA games & this new trailer has me just wanting it right now, I can't wait to get my hands on it & get rolling with the GTA missions in a new big colourful city.

Is it out yet?

Even though the trailer didn't really show too much its still got me wanting it as I just want a new city & character to play with.

What do we reckon, a years wait for the game, or more?

summer/fall 2012 i hope as that will be almost 4 years since gta 4. Thought itll probably get delayed like all rockstar games.

I agree with mech though it did look like gta 4 with slightly better graphics. I wasnt expecting a massive change but something to get me excited at least. I love the GTA series but the last one got boring for me and i never got round to finishing it.

i want to be excited for it but ive learned from previous GTA games that the anticipation leading up to the game, thinking about the possibilities and what you wanna do, is alot more fun then the actual gameplay is.

Im just waiting for the details and hopefully the announcement of some serious co-op play.

San Andreas to many GTA fans was the best one and it seems they are heading back to that direction :)

Yep San Andreas was the best GTA by miles, there was so much more that could do in San Andreas. GTA 4 was a massive let down for me they seem to have taken out loads of the fun. I hope they go back to crazy fun that San Andreas had, Also San Andreas was like a massive gamers toy box just went out and discovered things way before unlocking areas. It would always end up in a cop chase which lasted about 5 minutes before certain death, but 5 minutes on a 500 bike painted black with Rossi yellow 46 on front that just found in warehouse was like Christmas.

I think for GTA 5 they need to take San Andreas and go over the top with it.

I didn't think the trailer was all that great. Whilst a new GTA game is exciting, the trailer itself just made me think same old stuff - I too thought it just looked like GTA IV in the sunshine! I'm not a massive fan of the series as it is, but will no doubt end up getting this...

Exactly Topdog,

I'm guessing not may in this thread have played San Andreas?

In some circumstances such as GTA, old is perhaps good, if they take it back to San Andreas a lot of people will be very happy. Also I hope there are planes in it!

The music was awesome in San Andreas too, in fact we have the soundtrack box set :)

Do you think there are aspects of Vice City in it as well?

Not to sound like a grouch but I didnt like San Andreas.

Call it a mixture of a collection of game freezing moments causing me to lose hours of progress at a time, but the main thing about it for me was just there was almost TOO much to do in the game. Jetpacks here, flying around there, bmxing around massive areas n such. I prefer Vice City and 3.

Though Darce, dont get me wrong, I enjoyed GTA 4 on my first playthrough, even the free roam multiplayer was fun providing you had enough mates and a big enough imagination. But it didnt call me out for return visits. The realism and grittiness about the game got a little too sobering for me and it was easy for me to defect to Saints Row 1/2 when it had a lot more fun crazy stuff (stuff you'd expect from the GTA series since 3/VC/SA) in it.
