the best part is pressing the big x button on your joypad, going to your friends list and seeing who is doing what...in affect, the bit they left alone, the bit everyone uses and will continue to use.the rest is garbage.

Well LOVEFiLM right now on some dashboards is highlighting The Lovers Guide as a recommended movie, it came up on mine - and well quite literally in full on 50inch screen showed something else rising up... and made me wonder how many under 18's are able to see that on the new dashboard, it's a small square top right of the video - you click it and it launches the movie which is basically educational sex in pretty full on views. I don't have a family friendly account so I am assuming it's not being shown on the child accounts set up in Family settings.

I've had the dash since the preview and now previewers can publicly talk about it - I hated the layout at first, but it's become the best use of Kinect for me since voice control is almost everywhere (if not everywhere) There are more adverts, but it is only advertising mostly Xbox 360 products as awareness. I don't have any complaints about the adverts - but I despise Beacons. I hate Beacons, I absolutely detest that feature which should have had it's own separate notification switch off function, I shouldn't have to switch off all notifications to not receive them.

I do love the Xbox Companion App, it does basically only turn my WP7 into a touchscreen remote, but I like that, I like that a lot.

I was in the preview aswell & didn't mind it, tbh I hardly spent any time on the dashboard, only a couple of seconds before launching a game & then as pete says, the mini guide while in game is untouched so that's good.

I've just downloaded the companion app to my win7 phone but i'm not near my 360 until later tonight, i'll check it out then.

The thing with the old dash, it used to put me on the spotlight channel where they'd be video's I might launch & check out, which would then make me check the inside xbox channel to see if there was anything of interest there.

Now I have to actually go out of my way to view the inside xbox video's I don't, wonder how many less views those video's will get now...

i have a problem with voice controll...let me explain.

your in the middle of battlefield and your misses comes in and says she wants to watch a film.the first thing you must do is grab the controller to turn the game off or the tv remote to turn the volume down so you can use the voice control and that defeats the objective!!

Does Kinect recognise swear words, 'cause if it doesn't then it'll be switchin' itself off all the time as it might catch the last syllablePosted Image

Its rated 18, has the tagline 'Igniting Desire' and also has a small blurb about the film. Im pretty sure if a childs family account DID have access to Lovefilm, im pretty sure this one wouldnt be flagged up as recommended...

When I turn on a games console I want to play games (Strange that ) I don't want to be sold to. I don't care for kinect so that side is a total waste of time for me. The way the freinds list scrolls (3 at a time) is awful and most everything is hidden deep under sub headings, so if I did want to watch a preview I have to spend ages trying to find it. I've had a ps3 from launch and they basically leave the dash alone but add extra features so you don't feel alienated each update. Also why no internet browser, i'player or the like ?.

Guess I'm just too old, but seeing as mine is the age group with the most disposable income maybe they should listen more to us old uns

Same here...but now I own one :uhm: I'm with Darce, I don't care about the Dash. I didn't even realise that it's full of adds, so much attention does it get from me. :D Well, the look is nice.

well the more i play the more one thing gets on my nerves...beacons!!

im racing my butt off and all this crap keeps comming up.must i turn my notifications off? i dont want to do that but it seems the only answer.

i feel this wasnt thought through, maybe they spent most of there time thinking where to put the adds.

Oh yes... welcome to Beacons... I did say... !!! I [imagine many terrible swear words here] hate them, despise them. Also they are now synced with Windows Phone 7 so not only does my console bleep with every beacon, but my phone does too... arrrrrrrgggghhhhh

*rips out own hair in mass rage before self combusting

The beacon is a blessing. I used to wonder what everyone on my friends list was doing every 5 seconds... now I know :teehee:
