Well i must say i had been warned in advance that the demo was preety poor as one of my friends put it and on 1st play i was quite shocked at the demo.

I have played all the MX games and i must admit it takes a little getting used to using one stick as opposed to using both sticks for rider and bike control on the ATV Alive series.

First few plays had me thinking there was not much control and feel coming through the joypad but after a little perseverance i think i can see where BlackBean are coming from with this one.

Really was not sure on the whole scrub/Energy drinks thing but once you get a feel for the controls and get your timing right you can really wind this thing up and get a great sensation of speed.

I am so looking forward to this game that my opinion is probably a little skewed  but i know you cannot always tell from a demo sometimes how the full game will play.
I love the fact that the full game looks like its got a fun career to work through and here's hoping that the rider skills upgrades bring the bikes up a notch or two. If the online is as stable as SBk this could be a cracker online. You seem to be able to be quite agressive with other bikes and not come off so that could pan out well.

i'll be putting some hours in over the weekend

what's your thought people ?

Just tryed demo, the event mode was crappy but the Official mode felt less crappy, and in fact I actually enjoyed it stuck it on extreme mode because without battling it felt boring, but once stuck it on extreme mode and turned the drown out music off, had some pretty good races. First race sucked as they kept landing on top of me and making me crash, plus I was losing my own bike view as all the other bikes jammed in my camera. Lol but had a good battle for 6th that race. My second race though I enjoyed it a lot more and got into a groove ended up having a really good battle for 2nd, the physics are really basic and strange, it feels pretty nice mid corner but when the bikes upright it feels and looks pretty naff. I don't know how long the fun would last on it or how long the very simple handling would keep people satisfied. I'd say it's abit of fun for a couple of weeks maybe a month and some Achievements.

Take the Turbo out the game, sort the landings out and refine the physics abit, give it a speedo and it might be one hell of a fun racing game for along time to come, but the way it is I'd say it be fun for a month if that. Unless the Game holds something significant that's not in the demo?
There are a lot of faults in the game from the demo and it was very simple but I managed to get some fun out the demo in a few good racing battles and once get the rhythm going it's a nice little blast.

Good description there Ben, i agree the physics do feel quite basic the bike definitely feels a bit unresponsive when upright. there seems to be little control or feeling of input compared to cornering or in the air.
I like the way you can alter your flight path in the air off a jump when a scrub is timed right
I thought there was not much feeling of the rear spinning tyre spinning up as vibration is not an "option" that can be turned on in the demo. The more i play tho' there does seem to be some kind of responsiveness from the throttle coming through so hopefilly in the full game things may feel a bit better?

what i really love is the sensation of speed when you string it all togeteher without mistakes   but i am finding it very difficult to do more than one lap without a mistake.

I guess we have to remember that this is Blackbeans 1st attempt at a MX game with a brand new physics engine so im sure things will improve.

Anyone else tried it ?

I found it far too simplistic and arcadey for me. I don't want to moan at length since you seem to like it. It just wasn't to my liking.

webiker moan away ! feel free  looks like there is not that much interest in the game at the moment but Hey ! let us know what u think why not ?

After a bit of perseverance ive just won my 1st race on Hard  with a 1:58:04

bit more practice and fewer mistakes has given me a 1:44:53 butwas 2nd (2 seconds behind leader AI)

I know its a bit quirky but overall i think once you get the hang of it the game flows really well. I love the close battles with the AI and the way the camera gives some great close ups of them coming past you ! Quality I'm lovin it

I guess i'm just a racing nut at the end of the day and my expectations are not as high as some gamers. i think i'd be preety miserable if i had to wait till the "Perfect" racer comes out. I suppose Forza is as good as it gets at the end of the day but bottom line is i have a short attention span and will always go off and onto games no matter how good they are.

Really can't wait to get my teeth into the career mode and try all my favorite riders  should be really cool. i'm Mad for it lol
Its bringing back all them memories from Farleigh castle 1985 our Dave Thorpe v Andre Malherbe what a race

Ive been following MX1 and MX2 this year and Bulgaria wasa corker

What do u think Blackbean need to do to improve it ? Hopefully they should have the license for a few years do you think they have taken the wrong direction ?

Cheers

Paul

downloaded the demo and my 1st impression was not great but after a few laps i could see this being a good online racing game that would just change things up abit other than the sbk series of games im not keen on the boost things though to arcady for me but other than that i cant get off the the damm game milestone r doing a decent job im not expecting a polished artical here just as long as they keep evoulving the game like they did with the sbk games id be happy to have the game in my collection !!!

Finally managed to win with Cairoli on hard  and boy did i have some scraps getting there !

best time = 4:49:51

The more i have played the more feeling i am getting from the throttle and brakes. Lines and timing on scrubs are crucial. I love the way this game lets you get right up close and personal like no other mx game. You can use other riders as "Berms"  which i'm sure will be awesome when it comes to racing online.
Blackbean have done a fantastic job IMHO of the way the bikes bump almost "Smoothly" into each other without causing any annoying direction changes . This means you can have real bar-to-bar contact certainly with the AI at least and have some amazing close battles which should prove interesting in the career mode.
If the online handles that way too it will produce some seriously FUN racing

I am trying to look at this as open minded as possible bearing its their 1st attempt and i must say that just because a game feels "arcadey" sometimes that is not a bad thing. Playability is very high on the list and this game seems to be dilivering !
Some of the shots as you are racing to get that inside line against your opponent are just "Quality" !!!

Great job BlackBean well done !

Initially the bike felt underpowered comapared with frossard on the 450 but nailing it without a mistake and hitting some good lines and well timed scrubs produced my quickest time yet.

After spending a good amount of time with this game since Thursday i am finding it very addictive and hard to put down. The online racing is superb but i still cannot suss out what excactly it is i am doing to go fast when i manage to get it together ???
This game is def not a "SIM" but i think Blackbean have done a fantastic job with the gameplay. The mechanics can come across as a bit "Clunky" at times and there is def room for improvement but the overall way the game plays is very addictive.
At 1st i thought there was not a lot of skill involved in going fast but after racing online when you do get it right whatever that is the feeling of speed is superb and a great adrenalin rush.
i love the way some people come past you wheely-ing lol even through and out of some of the corners it looks awesome :-D

A real shame Blackbean have region locked this and really hope they can sort this out in the future as i really want to race my friends from across the pond.

Really enjoying the "heroes" mode and have only at present unlocked 2 of the 4 characters. Some great game modes even if the arena style freestyle mode is a little strange.

Well done Blackbean i would highly recommend this to any MX fan.

My PS3 copy arrived yesterday only to find out from a friend here who imported the 360 version that the 360 version worked on his US 360. Man I hate the PS3 contoller.

The game is first and foremost a fun game. I love how the track gets really torn up and can bogg you down. The A.I is really good also and are not out to take you out.....they race clean and are trying to win.
The one thing that has me scratching my head is the lack of replays? How could replays be left out? I had a race where I won at the line and would have loved to sit back and watch the replays ala SBK. I hope replays can be patched in but I doubt it.

Hey BC that's great news dude i have sent messages to all my USA friends. Be great to get us all in a room the racing is quality

Replays may come in future versions hopefully but i must admit i dont ever use em'

I guess you could say that the physics engine is a little "Clunky" at times but i think this game holds a great deal of potential. Some of the visuals when people are hooking up and wheelying past you are Awesome

I would say controller vibration is higher up the list for me for better throttle feedback. IMHO

Loving this game

I find it enjoyable so far, - I can't really do any of the moves when I am told to hold the A button, so I am still in a learning process. Visuals are great though!

Not played a great deal, but plan to cover all I can of it this weekend.

Jason if you don't mind me asking, where did you get SBK Generations from? PM me if you don't want to say here.
