EA’s ‘FIFA 12’ claims the third biggest All Formats launch week, outdoing last year’s ‘FIFA 11’ (up 18% in units and 34% in revenue), by overtaking Grand Theft Auto IV, with only the two Call of Duty’s ahead (Black Ops at No1and Modern Warfare 2 at No2). Xbox 360 continues to be the format of choice with 54% of the share (up 27% from last year) compared to PS3’s 44% (up 11% from last year). The other formats are left behind with only a 2% share (last year was 4% and the year before 6%).
Last week’s two new entries have therefore shuffled down with Microsoft’s ‘Gears of War 3’ (-76%) at No2 and Codemasters’ ‘F1 2011’ (-39%) at No3.
505 Games’ ‘Zumba Fitness’ (+14%) holds steady at No4, with Deep Silver’s ‘Dead Island’ (-6%) dropping another two places to No5.
Eidos/Square’s ‘Deus Ex: Human Revolution’ (-8%) is down a place to No6 followed by Sony’s high definition upgrade of two classic PS2 titles ‘ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection’ out this week on the PS3.
Ubisoft’s ‘Driver: San Francisco’ (-12%) drops two places to No8 despite the release of the PC version, Disney’s ‘Lego Pirates of the Caribbean’ (+8%) stands fast at No9 and back in the top 10 is chart regular ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’ (+47%) at No10.
Activision Blizzard’s new entry, ‘X-Men: Destiny’, comes in at No18 and Ubisoft’s ‘Child of Eden’ (+765%) jumps up the chart to No29 thanks to the release of the PS3 version.
